
The UEB : a regional network with an international goal
The Université européenne de Bretagne, or European University of Brittany (UEB), was created in March 2007. It is an “Etablissement public de coopération scientifique (EPCS – Public Scientific Cooperation Institution).
Combining 23 higher education and research institutions all over Brittany (universities, « grandes écoles », research structures and hospital complexes), the UEB is the result of a long partnership between different structures of the Breton higher education network.
The creation of the UEB, and its certification by the French government, demonstrates the wish of its members to pursue the collaboration between the higher education structures of Brittany.
The UEB offers a wide range of skills such as research, doctoral training and studies, technology transfer and innovation, Europe and international, organization of observatories to monitor student integration into working life, digital activities, life-long learning...
The aims of the UEB
To build a framework for the higher education landscape, keeping in mind the growing international competition.
To develop a shared research strategy and to bring together human and material means in order to develop projects which will enjoy a European, and/or international prestige.
